April Cottage is a relaxed, family-run bed and breakfast on the main island of St. Mary's, Isles of Scilly. We are located just a few minutes' walk from beaches, restaurants, local amenities and the quay. We have one double and one twin bedroom, both with en-suite bathrooms with showers. We are only able to accommodate a maximum of 4 guests.
Our guests are welcomed with a complimentary tray of tea/coffee and homemade cakes. There is a large and comfortable separate guest lounge with television and DVD player and breakfast is served in the conservatory overlooking the garden. Wi-fi signal is available in the conservatory. A picnic table and bench seat are available in the front garden, which guests are welcome to enjoy.
We take pride in our fully cooked Scillonian breakfast with delicious Cornish sausages, bacon, local free range eggs, grilled tomatoes, mushrooms, local sautè herb potatoes and homemade fried bread. Lighter options also available; enjoy our homemade white or wholemeal bread/toast, with Cornish butter, our own homemade marmalade or local Bryher jam, homemade granola bars, freshly prepared fruit salad, natural yoghurt and a selection of cereals or porridge. We also offer our very own locally caught mackerel fillets, when available, from our licensed fishing boat 'Goodwill SC 9'.
April Cottage is home to Cornish girl Louise and Scillonian boatman Alec Hicks who can provide a wealth of information about local boat services and the islands themselves. Alec also owns and operates a passenger boat called 'Kingfisher of St Mary's', and visits our guests during breakfast, to assist with boating information.
We regret that we are unable to accommodate pets or young children. We do have two well behaved dogs, a springer spaniel and a black labrador who both live outside in a garden kennel.
We are able to accept major credit and debit card payments (there is a 3% charge for credit cards, no charge for debit cards.)
We look forward to welcoming you into our Scillonian home.
